William Charles "Bill" Smith, Sr., age 75 of Rural Retreat, VA passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017. He was born in Centre, PA on January 10, 1942 the son of the late Grant Smith and Mildred Stewart Smith.  Bill was an active member of the Rural Retreat Pentecostal Holiness Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Smith; grandson, Frankie Oresic and a brother, Donald Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joyce Smith; sons & spouses, Bill and Sharee Smith of NC, Kevin and Rose Smith of FL, Eddy and Sonia Smith of SC, Douglas M. Crigger, Jr. of Rural Retreat; daughters and spouses, Suzanne and Paul Kuhl of NC, Darlene and Eddie Kuhl of NJ; 5 granddaughters, 9 grandsons and a multitude of great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Rural Retreat Pentecostal Holiness Church, 702 Murphysville Rd, Rural Retreat, VA  24368 with Rev. Roger Crigger officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. prior to the service.
