Willow Dean Clark Gilbert passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished most. She will be remembered not only for her warm heart and gentle spirit, but for her incredible sense of humor and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Willow loved to laugh and had a special talent for making others laugh right along with her. Her presence could light up a room, and she had a way of making every person feel welcomed, valued, and deeply loved.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Gilbert, with whom she shared a life full of love and memories. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Deania Monday, whom she loved dearly and carried in her heart always.

She is survived by her devoted son, Douglas "Dougie" Gilbert. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Levi Gilbert and his wife, Katelyn Gilbert; Kayla Stroupe; Kristin Stroupe and her fiancé, Elliott Mills; Savannah Monday; Katie Monday; and Dakota Monday.

Willow was blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Addison Stroupe, Talon Luther, Rowan Stroupe, and Willow Carroll. Each one was a bright light in her life and a source of great pride.

She is also survived by her only living brother, Preston Clark, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories.

A special and heartfelt shout-out is extended to Pati and John Manuel for their love, support, and faithful presence in Willow's life. Their kindness and care meant more than words can express.

Above all, Willow's life was centered on family. Her legacy of love, strength, laughter, and devotion will live on through the generations she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with Pastor Delana Hagerman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time.

Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Community Cemetery. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is serving the Gilbert family.
