Keith Allen Nester, age 47, died suddenly Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his mother's home in Austinville, VA. He was born October 4, 1969 in Wytheville, VA and was a lifelong resident of Wythe County. He worked previously at the American Screw Factory in Wytheville before becoming disabled. He served a short time in the Marine Corp before being medically discharged. Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Ingo Nester; his father, Frederick Delp Nester and his paternal grandmother, Gertrude Nester Armbrister.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Nester; two daughters, Raven and Kayla Nester; grandchildren, Aleyah Nester, Peyton Baxley and Makenzie Dalton; his maternal grandparents, Albert and Virginia Asbury; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Summing up my father's life, I keep coming back to one thought. Dad was a people-pleaser and knew exactly what to say or do to make your day. He was goofy, unique and would give you anything he had, even if it meant he would do without. My father was loyal to his family, and we were his pride and joy in life. He made it his daily task to make sure that we were alright, even when he was the one who needed nurturing. He has a beautiful heart and he always had faith. He will be so dearly missed but always remembered as the crazy dad that liked rap music, the Hokies, mixed martial arts and to relentlessly pick on his children.

There will be no services at the request of Keith.
