Chad Robert Cunningham, 48, of Chilhowie, Virginia, suddenly passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020.  He was born in Sparta, Tennessee August 20, 1971.  He was raised in both Springfield, Ohio and Crossville, Tennessee.  He joined the United States Air Force after graduating high school in Crossville, Tennessee.  He lived in Denver, Colorado where he met his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Harris, and they both finally settled in Chilhowie, Virginia to be closer to family.  He is survived by his mother, Louanne Cunningham of Rural Retreat, Virginia and his son, Kyle Cunningham of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.  He is also survived by his brother, Alfred Cunningham, Jr. (wife Beth) of Springfield, Ohio, sister Teresa Cunningham of Sparta, Tennessee, and sister Amanda Wright (husband Chance) of Rural Retreat, Virginia.  Funeral services will be held at Rural Retreat Baptist Church on Saturday, January 25th, 2020 with Pastor Jacob Vanover presiding.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, and memorial services will begin at 2:00 PM.
